Meanwhile during lockdown…

So if anything I have taken out of this enforced stop, it’s to remember to see what is around me and to appreciate it.

During lock down, I decided to try my hand at other types of photography. As you will see on my site, I usually photograph people. I wanted to step outside my comfort zone a little and try something new. I signed up to a course in product photography and tried a few very basic set ups. I made some chocolate muffins one day and decided to try and make them look a bit, ‘arty’.

I got the bug then, and just grabbed anything in my immediate area and photographed them. Some I used an additional light, but most were taken with natural light from the kitchen window.

Next, I made use of the time and took some photographs of the beautiful flowers in my garden. I don’t usually give myself enough time to sit in the garden, or even notice the flowers and plants growing in there. So if anything I have taken out of this enforced stop, it’s to remember to see what is around me and to appreciate it.

I am definitely looking to pursue more food and product photography going forward. I love it and it appeals to my creative personality.

I’m looking forward to my studio reopening on the 15th of June, so more magic with lovely people can be created in there.

I hope you enjoy my photos.
